• Melbourne Screening of 'The Price of Pleasure'

    The Coalition Against Trafficking in Women Australia will be hosting a film screening in Melbourne of the acclaimed 2008 US documentary 'The Price of Pleasure: Pornography, Sexuality and Relationships'.

    The screening will be followed by a debriefing, panel discussion and question time.

  • UNHRC Report on Trafficking in Persons

    The UN Special Rapporteur for trafficking has released her report to the 10th Session of the Human Rights Council. The report provides a glogal perspective of the trafficking phenomena, the legal and policy framework for combatting trafficking and a number of important recommendations.   • Trafficking Case Decision (Sept 2008)

     

    In a historic decision, the High Court of Australia has rejected the appeal of Wei Tang against her conviction for holding women in sexual slavery in a brothel in Brunswick Street, North Fitzroy, Victoria. This landmark decision has seen a redefinition of slavery in Australia, and will form an important precedent.
